Offbeat news without a big time investment, all news has 1 heading and 3 paragraphs of 250 words or less. That’s all.
The site does not have as much “Hard” new as some news sites but what it has are tons of easy to read user submitted stories from around the world. Some news is current events, some odd stuff, all good and short. For several years this was my staple news site because all of the news was on point and easy to read between customer encounters. They even have a news ticker that you can configure for your site, if you have one.
Users are ranked on a simple point scale where they get points for posting stories and for others reading those stories. Points are also awarded for comments.
Stories are blocked because they are from banned sites, or because they are old news, or because someone beat you to the punch. So be fast to submit a new story and you get tons of points.
